Linux is an Operating System which is free.  Free as in freedom kind of free.   It's rock solid, no known viruses, runs the majority of servers on the web, and the majority of the worlds super computers.  Opensource applications are the real free software, and free of proprietary licensing, and there are ten's of thousands of them.  So what keeps a rock solid operating system that is freely available from making it to your computer? Or at least your old computer? Maybe you just need to pick up a little know how.
Follow along with the video's I create on Vectorlinux. To ease your mind try it for the first time on an older computer, or in a virtual machine on your current computer.  Vectorlinux is a very resource light, but feature packed distribution, perfect for this.
